40 BILLION DOLLARS OF BEDDING SECTOR MEETS IN ISTANBUL, ONE OF THE WORLD’S COMMERCIAL AND LOGISTIC BASES

The bedding sub-industry sector, which is expected to increase its production of 3 billion dollars to 4 billion dollars and its exports to 2 billion dollars by the end of 2023, came together with an international organization in Istanbul.

IBIA Expo-Bedding Sub-Industry and Technologies Exhibition, the first and only exhibition of its sector in Turkey, started today with the participation of Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank. IBIA EXPO 2022 is the first in Turkey in bedding components and technologies, as well as being the largest exhibition of Eurasia at the international level.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of IBIA EXPO 2022, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank said: “It is a very satisfying development to be involved in such a lively exhibition’ organization in Turkey at a time when the American and European economies are in recession. We are very pleased that Turkey is one of the most important production centers of the world and that the showcase of the products produced is an exhibition.”

 

OUR GOAL IS TO BE AMONG THE TOP THREE COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD

Osman Güler, Chairman of the Board of IBIA Association, stated that the world bedding production, together with its sub-sectors, has an important annual potential of 40 billion dollars and added: “When we look at the numerical size of the bedding sub-industry sector in Turkey, we are faced with a very bright picture. The production of sectoral companies in our country is 3 billion dollars and their exports are 2 billion dollars. We have a huge employment of 25 thousand people. Our goal is to reach new records, 35 thousand jobs and an export figure of 3 billion dollars.”

Ümit Vural, the organizer of IBIA EXPO 2022, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BİFAŞ Exhibitions, said that although it is the first and only exhibition in its sector in Turkey, IBIA EXPO 2022 gained an international dimension in a short time and became the largest exhibition of Eurasia in its sector.

ITO President Şekip Avdagic stated the following at the opening of the Exhibition: “I congratulate IBIAEXPO, which became both an association and organized at the national level in a short time.”

 

IMPORTANT NAMES OF THE SECTOR AT IBIA EXPO 2022

Apart from ISPA President Ryan Trainer, the seminars and events section, which will be attended by valuable and sector-leading names, will accelerate the sector. The latest technologies and trends will be explained in the seminars, and a rich and effective platform will be presented to the participants.

Within the scope of the Exhibition, topics such as trends in the bedding industry, industry 4.0 in bedding production, sustainability and traceability, quality, impact and access to new products and new markets will be the main topics of the seminars.  The following people will participate in the seminars as speakers, adding a new vision to the sector: Yatsan CEO Gökalp Bahçeli, Elektroteks CEO Serkan Güler, BekaertDeslee Sustainability Manager Charles Christiaens, Yataş Operations Director Metin Özbek, Durak Tekstil Marketing Manager Ali Yiğit Durak, Boyteks Harun Gürkan Yiğit and Özen İplik Adnan Türker.

 

THE UNIQUE EXHIBITION IN TURKEY AND THE BIGGEST IN EURASIA

IBIA Expo 2022, Turkey’s only exhibition on bedding components and technologies, and Eurasia’s largest exhibition in the industry, is an international trade exhibition that brings together the professionals of the sub-industry, machinery and equipment, as well as an excellent export platform where the latest technologies and innovative products are exhibited.

 

About the Sector and Exhibition:

By the end of 2023, it is aimed that the Bedding sub-industry sector will increase its production of 3 billion dollars to 4 billion dollars and its exports to 3 billion dollars. Increasing the sector with a total employment of 25 thousand to 35 thousand in parallel with this acceleration is among the targets.

While there are 8 companies from IBIA association members among the first thousand exporters in Turkey this year, other companies that are members of the association are expected to join in 2023.

Bedding manufacturers in Turkey have gained a serious momentum in the last 10 years and have reached 256 million dollars of export with a growth of 51%. Our country, which is in the second best position after China in bedding technologies and component manufacturers in the world, has the title of being the country that shows the highest participation and interest after the number of participants of the host country in all international sectorial exhibitions.

IBIAEXPO Exhibition will meet with its visitors in Halls 5, 6 and 7, with the participation of nearly 150 companies, on an area of 15,000m2 between October 6-9.
