Turkey Becomes a Global Player in the Mattress Supply Industry

IBIA EXPO, which will be organized for the fourth time in 2025, is preparing to bring the mattress sub-industry and technology sector together once again in Istanbul. In recent years, the mattress technology sector has undergone a radical transformation on the axis of high-tech production lines and digitalization. Production facilities located in Turkey offer a significant leap in productivity while increasing production quality.

Mattress sub-industry and technology companies are increasing their competitiveness in the global market by developing new projects every month with their R&D teams. Osman Güler, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Mattress Industry Association (IBIA), stated that Turkey has come a long way in mattress components and technologies and said, “We have directed the supplier pointer of the mattress industry to Turkey. After that, no other alternative exists.” Recalling that the sector had a volume of 1.5 billion dollars in 2021, Güler said that today this figure has exceeded 3 billion dollars and the employment has reached 30 thousand people.

From sleep comfort to health: A new generation product approach

The evolution of consumer expectations in this sector has a direct impact on technological product development. In particular, products developed with personalized sleep solutions, orthopedic structures, viscoelastic materials and natural fiber fabrics emphasize health as well as comfort. “Quality sleep” is no longer considered a luxury, but an essential part of a healthy life.

Sustainability is now a key agenda

Mattress technology manufacturers are now focusing not only on product quality but also on sustainable production processes. Energy management, waste control and carbon footprint reduction projects have become a high priority for many companies. Some manufacturers are aiming to reduce carbon emissions by 70 percent.

Robotic transformation shapes the industry

Robotic transformation, one of the main themes of IBIA EXPO 2025, will be on the agenda of industry professionals throughout the fair. Turkey-based production facilities are transitioning to full automation by integrating robotic systems. While this transformation increases production quality, it also provides significant gains in productivity.

IBIA Expo opens new opportunities for the sector

IBIA EXPO, which will take place on September 24-27, 2025 at the Istanbul Expo Center, continues to be one of the most important platforms where global collaborations and trade volumes grow in the industry. Attended by thousands of international buyers every year, the fair plays a decisive role in establishing export connections and introducing new technologies. In Osman Güler’s words: “We don’t just want to be a manufacturing country; we want to make Turkey the heart of this industry.”

We invite you to this international meeting.
